If you are riding mostly trails, I would recommend a 4-stroke.
Maybe a 250EX, 300EX, warrior, Mohave, or as was suggested earlier, a Polaris.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

I must say I was a little confused on the 02 shee or Honda Recon. When you say SHEE you mean BANSHEE. Sorry I guess I am slow.

How can you even compare those two bikes. The Banshee is a High speed sport bike for a skilled rider. The recon is a beginer utility atv. I find it hard to belive that a recon can handle rough terrain better than a Banshee.
My next question, How big is you son and how old?

I totaly agree that the Polaris Scrambler is a great for trail riding. But depending on your sons size and age it may be too much. All POLARIS bike are big and heavy. IF you son is younger I would suggest you put him on a Polaris Trailblazer first. The Trailblazer still has pretty good supension and Power at a fraction of the cost. The Trailblazer is a great beginer FULL size ATV. It will easily out power a recon but the power is a bit more controled in comparision to a BANSHEE or Scrambler. Just my Opinion. I would not put my younger ones on any thing outragous.
I see you own alot of toys so your sons experience level may be high, I just show caution when you are talking RECON. Recon is a beginer ATV, and should not be compared to a high end sport bikes.
