Need Help First Time Buyer

Just my opinion.
The Z400 looks like an excelent machine. Handling of 400EX , Power of Raptor.
(ASIDE FROM BEING A FIRST YEAR BIKE, IT IS WHAT I WOULD GET)
The 400Ex or Banshee has no reverse, THAT ALONE would stop me from buying one.
(BANSHEE 2 stroke POWER BAN is a PLUS)
Warrior -Good machine, but seams Enty level compared to the others.

Avoid the Warrior (you can believe me, I rode one for years)!! The Banshee is kind of a specialized machine. It is great for flying down desert fire roads, but it isn't a good trail bike, and can be a handfull for a beginner. The two 400 class bikes are good all around machines. You can fly down fire roads and desert washes, yet they are also good trail bikes. A beginner can handle them if you just take it easy until your skill level increases. I would probably get the Z if I were buying a new bike today.
The Banshee is a great duner, because of lots of reserve top end power. But, the 400 class bikes are good duners, because they handle great.

The 400EX will feel the best, at first, with it's awesome handling and user friendly power. It's the best aggressive novice/learner bike on the planet, but it doesn't take long before most EXers get bored and start looking for more ponies with a big bore kit or a different quad.
The Warrior is the least responsive bike on your list. Unless you find a used one in great shape for very little money, pick something with more performance.
The Suzuki looks great on paper. The DRZ dirt bike that the Z's motor came from is a roost monster. Hard to imagine it not being quit a bit more powerful than the EX.
The Banshee is a handfull for a beginner, but with some practice and a little self restraint you can get through the learning process unscathed. Take a look in the Cycle Trader for SoCal. With "the season" coming to an end there will be tons of 'Shee's for sale. Those manufactured before '97 will have a Green Sticker, allowing you to ride this two stroke thoughout the state, year round. It's probably the best bang for your buck.
Good luck
