Bought a new Quad a few weeks ago. Do you get service in the purchase? I mean when I take it back for the valve adjustment, is that included in the warrenty or does it only come into play when something breaks?

under the normal warranty the answer is no. If you bought extended warranty then it would be yes, but it all depend what kind of extended warranty you bought from the dealer.
