tommyboy84, you can get a Detroit Gearless locker from Hylifter.com. The new 450s has a 2wd/4wd switch on it already so if you throw the Gearless locker in you will have fully locked 4wd without the hassle of a switch for a dif lock. The gearless locker doesn't affect steering at all eitheir so you won't scrub your front tires off prematurely when in 4wd.

The 450 is a nice bike, plenty of low end power, not much on speed from 3rd gear on. I've seen too many of them flip going up STEEP hills though. I think it is because of the stiff front end or something. They are good for going downhill though due to the engine brake. You should consider a Kodiak or an Eiger, much more features and equal reliability in my opinion. Though speed is only one factor, my Kodiak is pretty fast, having outrun numerous SP 500's (non ho's) and 450's and my Egier will outrun my Kodiak.

You might consider the Arctic Cat 400 and 500. Multiple choices of drive train and suspension. Lots of power, hi/lo range very good at hill climbing. Weight biased to the front 60/40. If you want more info. check the AC forum. Good Luck and God Bless.

not diss'in AC (my desktop is a lime green 500i) but lots of power is something i think that AC's are lacking compared to the others, i think i heard other AC owners complain about that.

Back to the retail prices of the grizz and the 450. Who pays full retail? The 450 retails for ~$8200 and the grizz is $10 200, that's quite a difference in cdn dollars. But if i lived in the sates i would get the grizz if it is that close in price.

Whatever you don't get an Arctic CANT. Rob Alford works there and is trying to mislead you. They are really heavy, slow and unreliable. Ask any rider who doesn't own one. Sorry Rob.

Also, he tries to help sales by putting this post in every single thread with no concern for your needs. Check all the other threads in this section. It's really annoying.

I don't know what 450honda has against me. I don't go looking for his posts to comment on. I did not say go buy an AC because its is the best out there, although it is quite good. I do believe anyone in the market for any atv should look at all options to make a well informed decision. Do not buy anything without riding it and by all means check out the dealer before you buy, a good dealer makes all the difference in the world. Anyone looking at the 400 class machines should check out AC just for the variety. The AC 400 uses the same motor as the Eiger and you can get it in auto or man. with 12" of ground clearance. I think 450 just gets jealous. Oh and you should never take advice from someone who has first hand experience, like an owner of a machine, that would be ridiculous. I did leave out in my previous post test ride 'em all and buy what you like. I don't know how many times I'll have to put up with 450honda, I guess his opinion is the only one worth hearing. It's funny I don't remember bashing honda, although there are lots of things I don't like about them. I really hate the fact that some people won't considr anything but honda and honda corp. seems to ignore what people. They do seem to be waking up though. Sorry so Long. Happy trails and God Bless.
OH YEA, I DO NOT WORK FOR AC. MY AC 500 WORKS FOR ME!
