KFX 700 First year's Model ... is it a risk worth taking?
The KFX700 is one of the machines I have been considering also. I was really interested in the Grizzly 660 but with all the cv joint issues I really think that machine will need to improve before I go there. I live in Washington State and we don't really need 4 wheel drive due to the hard pack terrain in most areas we ride. I still have the little kid running around inside me and he shows his attitude once in a while.
I really like the power of the P650 so the KFX700 should be able to do well except for the weight and I don't race so that probably won't be a real issue. One of the salesman in the area told me he jumped on the KFX at the motorcycle show in Seattle and felt the suspension was way to soft. Tell me how anyone can tell what the suspension is like buy merely sitting on the bike or jumping up and down on the pegs for 15 seconds. I guess the Kawasaki Reps ordered him off real fast since it was roped off and a sign on the seat prohibited any butts.
What I'm really looking for is a quad that has strong power, will climb hills effortlessly and slide well. Also something that will not overheat while I'm cruising along with my wife when she is on her P650. I'm sure it will handle as well as most other quads except maybe the Z400 or Predator but we'll see.
I saw the machine at the convention and it sported the dual stainless exhuast system which was really hot but I doubt that exhuast will come stock. It is a big machine, I was shocked to see it's size. It was parked next to a P650 and they were both about the same size.
Like RPM, I try to research everything I'm interested in buying prior to making a decision. It's tough when there is so little info out about this machine but after seeing it and knowing what the P650 is like it should do just fine. Kawasaki has built a great motor and it will be intetresting what will come of this quad in a year once the aftermarket gets hold of it.

HEY GUYS DO YOU REALY THINK THAT KAWASAKI WOULD TAKE ALL THIS TIME TO RELES A BIKE SLOWER THEN THE COMPITION. THE P650 KEEPS UP WITH A STOCK RAPTOR ON A 50 YARD DRAG AND AFTER THAT THE RAPTOR PULLS OUT ABOUT THREE QUAD LENGTHS AND THATS IT. NOW A SPORT QUAD THATS ABOUT 110 PUNDS LIGHTER BIGGER ENGINE WILL BLOW AWAY THE RAPTOR.
