Check at the grocery stores, but get an education that is the most important thing you can do, you have the rest of your life to play.

If you have a sport that you are interested in, look into being a referee in that sport. I am assuming you are in school, and this is one of the best paying part-time jobs you can find. I worked about 10 hours a week and got paid about $160 per week as a soccer referee. If not, lookfor an in town business, the will normally hire for just part time. While the pay is not the best, it is more flexible than most jobs you can find in department stores etc.

When I was your age I had quite a lawnmowing/snowblowing bussiness. Find a need and fill it. Your folks and/or neighbors might be able to help.
Someone mentioned paper route. Paper routes are a good networking tool(if they still exist for the young people) . You get to meet (or mend a relationship with) all your neighbors, next thing you know, they will need some things done from time to time, and you will be the one they call. People love to support the local kids (as they should).

One word: Entrepreneur

Do you live near the ocean??? Can you clean a fish???? or rig a boat?

I live about 20 miles from the ocean and yes I can clean a fish but it is not because I am a cajun. I lived in Texas all my life until 2 years ago and used to go fishin about every day on our ranch.

Ive been working in the grocery business for 14 years, although I work on the computers and network part of it, i'm telling you it is a very good career, their are grocery stores everywhere, and when the economy goes bad grocery store sales increase, you can start out as a bag boy or cart kid and work your way up, you can go to school while working at a grocery store, some are open 24 hours a day, and once you have experience you can ALWAYS get a job at any grocery store. For example if you work for my company Winco Foods if you have 10,000 hours (5 years) you would make $19.79 an hour (CA) plus bonuses, not bad for a high school diploma, and say you are a dept. head like Produce Dept manager you would make $22.76 an hour plus bonuses. Not bad, choose something you can use anywhere or anytime. Good luck.

BTW if your good enough store managers make about $125,000 a year , cleaning fish ain't going to help you much if you move to Nebraska.
