Ds 650 problem running
#1
Well I bought a DS650, it had a few fried wires to the ignition, and cdi box was ruined.
I re-did the wiring that was fried, and got a big gun cdi.
Battery is dead.
I hook it up to the charger, it will run great. When you take the charger off of the battery it will cut off completely.
Does anybody know what may cause this problem?
Do I just need a new battery? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
John.

Battery with bike off should read around 12.25v. While starting should drop no lower than 9v. Then when running should have about 14.25v.

could be the regul;ator or something. Our bikes should be able to be push started in the event of a battery outage since they have a cdi ignition. Not positive though as i havent had mine that long.get a manual and start measuring voltages...good luck
