2006 Ds 650 help me please
I have recently traded for a DS 650 2006 model and the bike is in pretty good shape. When I got it seemed to run good and after riding it some more I noticed it would die after very hard acceleration. I pulled the carb and cleaned it out and everything seemed to be good. Still could not get it to run good. Checked the gas tank vents and they are open and good. Has a new set of fresh ngk plugs in it. I have set the idle and pilot screw via the omr carb tuning advice.
The bike still does not run right. It will pull good till you rail its guts then it will cut out and not rev. If you slowly get into the throttle I can get it to rev to almost 7k but if you rap the throttle fast you are lucky to get to 5k. The carb has the stock jet in it. When I got the bike the pipe was gutted. I repacked the pipe. All the bike has done to it is a uni style filter.
I am at the point of throwing a larger jet in it to see what it will do.
Any advice or direction to go with it. This bike has me so fired up as I know it will scream and I am ready to ride.
PS the plugs are a very very very light shade of brown. I believe its running lean per my idea of going to a larger jet.
Thanks for your advice in advance.
