DS 250 we had (2006) was made by Sym, company in Taiwan. Dependable as could be, but no guts at all.

Talked to a salesman at one dealer, he said anything under 250cc was a rebadged atv.

I believe all the Can-Ams, DS250 on up are made in Mexico. I've had a couple small issues related to manufacturing like a seat that the cover wasn't stapled properly and some bolts that were WAY over-torqued. Other than that it's been a great ride for 14 months since purchase.

Could be. Ours was still sold under the Bombardier name. Clearly stamped on the motor case was SYM. They were still selling it as a Rotax engine.

forget seat staples, our grizzlys that have been treated like old ladys have the seat staples coming out in the front. we had to get special 1/8" staples and redo both of them. these companies are saving money by selling small china, but i think honestly they are killing their potential customers who start young/small cc and work their way up. scion was toyotas answer to get young kids hooked on toyota. how in the world are these big names going to retain life long customers when they are selling crap on the first go around????
