I put about 900 miles on my 2011 800 max xt- with the factory brakes on it.
I know what your saying, but that's the only way I could see brake pads being worn out before the second oil change. Unless of course you let a woman drive it. They tend to ride the brake the entire time lol jk, Dealer is most likely trying to pull one over on you

I would think a shady dealer would just tell you they already got rid of the part. Who really has space for all the broken parts you could try to use?

That's why you need to tell them that up front, before any work is done.

that's a good point.

I just paid $340 to replace brakes that had 300 miles on them and a wiring failure due to a faulty factory switch....

I'm fuming!

Bake pads average $25 per pair so that $75. Tell me that the rest went to the faulty switch.EBC Brake Pad - Sintered Metal | ATV | Rocky Mountain ATV/MC

Lol- you crack me up!
You really think a can am dealer is using ebt brake pads from rocky mountain?
The pads were $43 / set x 3 sets + shop rate labor at around $80hr.

Plus I had them replace the oil filter and plugs.

Plus the deductible for the switch they broke in the first place.

I had a dealer mechanic pull this on me with a street bike i was getting inspected one time. Sucks to be him as I walked over to the bike and told him to pull the pads as I stood there watching. Oh, um, well, those will probably be OK for the next year sir, here is your sticker. Had another car dealer (free lifetime inspections) try to tell me my parking brake pads were shot, and it was $400.00 to fix so it would pass. You mean the rebuild kit I just installed for $50.00 was defective(pulls out receipt for parts just purchased one month prior.) Oh, um, let me speak with the mechanic, he must be mistaken.

Yeah, I might buy it if it was Chinese made mini with the cardboard pads. BTW, the EBC sintered pads are probably superior to the stockers by a good bit, they are all I run. And mud can really kill pads in a hurry, so if you have been doing more mud runs than usual, that COULD be a reason.

I got the old pads back- there indeed down to the metal... still unreal considering 300 miles worth of easy riding.

I have no doubt that the ebt pads are superior to the stock pads... but the dealer is going to use the factory pads- not aftermarket. if the dealer uses aftermarket parts, it voids the warranty if anything else fails, like the calipers (which are covered under warranty)
