Today makes 4 weeks that woods has had my stuff. And it's still not done. Why does it take so freeking long??? How long have the rest of you had to wait for woods to get your heads done? I also took my cyclinder to him to get it re nicked. He sent it to Ohio and it is done and back as of last week.
Just venting sorry guys.

Hey Larry, get on the horn with Eliott and tell him I am going to quit buying crap from them!! Then he will tell you when it will be done!!! LOL May be you should have given me that head after all! I would love to see how it runs and I guess we will at Pizmo, HEh!? I don't know if it will be as strong as Jim's though. I think Jim is running a little bigger cam and Massive headwork. nRWR doesen't do nearly enough port work. But it will run darn good though that is for sure! Talk to you laterZ dudes.

it was about 5-6weeks for my head @ ron wood(i think he sends all his machine work out). now i don't want to start anything here but make sure you check that it has the correct size valves in it when you get it back. when robertson took mine apart for the 760 kit he said i had smaller exhaust valves in the head than what ron advertised? thats one shop talking about another i know, but robertson swore it had less valve than i was told would be in there next thing ron assembles the head, sets lash ect so all you have to do is install. bullsh*t!! my valves where so tite i think about .006 or less, you want them 008-010. then the cam drive gear that is bolted to the cams came loose and blew the exhaust cam collar to peices most all high performance engine builders say that welding the cam gear to the cam is the only way to keep this from happening, ron does not offer this service. don't get me wrong here the stageIII runs strong but i spent most of last summer screwing around with broken cams and mis direction from wood. oh yah i almost forgot- make sure you check the correct ring stacking because if you use the bombardier book with rons rings you will do it wrong and the thing will smoke. get the correct ring placment from ron direct (he does'nt include any instructions with the parts you get back) man i sound pissed!!! sorry just venting some old frustraion i broke down last year on 2 dune trips far from home because of cam problems with woods stuff, well one good thing is my head gasket never leaked.

well you venting is from experience dealing with ron woods. I would stick to builders that have more for a one basics and give clear instruction with the parts. I think I'm going to deal with Eric when I do my motor. I want to keep the motor a 650 use a 13.1 piston and run sport cams or stock with head porting and a lectron 44/46 carb. I think this wood make a good XC motor. What do you think.
