Anyone have an old snowmobile engine?? Trade
#1
Hey everyone i have an old 70's golfcart that iam currently planning on putting a 440 snowmobile double or somthing to that effect. also i plan on putting some huge shocks on it of off road sand ridding. now i dont know too much about golf carts but i want to swith the front suspension to a single a-arm design with anout 12'' of travel was thinking ds shocks, and in the rear allot of suspension any ideas for that? also if anyone has a snowmobile engine they want to trade or sell i got the most stuff anyone would ever need. so just reply. I looked at the engine its a dual start engine: ie it runs both forward and backwards. now it has a tranny that i want to connect to and it uses the same belt/clutch that most snowmobiles run so will this work? i want this thing to rip even if it has a top speed of 40-50 thats ok. give me some input
I have allot of things so just tell me what you need. i have a solid 5 acre junck yard anyway i also have an extra set of dual exhaust for the ds i might trade so just ask thanks Vic

i have a 93 arctic cat 550 snowmobile that has been crashed and the motor is out of it. Only 1800 miles on the sled. It is a 550 liquid cooled, no electric start but has recoil. These motors have around 80-90hp i think. I might trade you for a dual exhaust. What else do u have you might want to trade?

so what was involved in doing a dual exhaust setup? relocate the battery? Oh, the only thing i dont have to the motor is the exhaust pipe, but you would probably have to make one to fit in it anyways. I am going to the oregon dunes june 28-july 3rd so we might be able to make this work without having to mess with shipping. Sean

Fun project. A guy on the Amsnow forum put a Rotax 600 triple in a golf cart. He said he had the throttle cable adjusted so they would only open 1/2 way and it still went about 65!

Well yes the battery relocate is the only thing you have to change i am working on a new setup/ box for that that i could include too. the exhaust isent a big deal is it a tripple or double? also do you have the wiring harness could you get some pics of it if possible? that would work good if you were coming up.
