OEM Oil pressure switches
I think that my oil switch is out. I called my local dealer and asked how much they charged for a new one. She asked what year DS I had. I said 2000 and she said that I need a couple new parts on top of the switch itself because they upgraded it, that is if it is the first time I replace the switch.
What is this upgrade, does it help in the life of the switch?
I don't really understand??
Help
Thanks
Jeff

I don't know if mine has been changed or not...It's a normal screw-in switch with a single connector plate coming out of the end. Is that what you guys all have??
and if it is, I can just go to my local NAPA and buy any Oil pressure switch that has 1/4" threads, the highest trip rate I can find (what do u suggest?) and a plate connector??
They are asking 20$ canadian from my dealer. And they are charging 12$ at NAPA.
Thanks

ive got an oo and i had to replace my oil sensor also and the new one was totally different.on my old sensor oil started to leak through the top where the little prong sticks out for the wire to plug onto.i havent had a problem since.my dealer gave me my replacement because he the factory should stand behind it and if they didnt that he would and said not to worry about the cost it was taken care of.

OEM Oil pressure switches
I think I'll get a switch this time. And if it goes out again, I'll get a gauge. I couldn't find any decent looking gauges at my local auto parts store and I do not feel like paying 100$ bucks for an Auto Meter one...
Can anyone please answer my last question?? :
But a good quality sensor from my local hardware store should be just as good right??
Or should I pay the extra $$$ for the OEM switch??
also, click here to see what my current switch looks like (quick loading pic)
thanks again
