I know when I replaced the rear Bearings on my 2000 DS I had to use a floor press to get the thing off. Went back on much easier. I've read that some guy's just use a wooden block and a big hammer to beat the thing off. You might search thru the old listing for more info.
By the way, the same bearings and seals can be purchased at any bearing shop or even NAPA cheaper than at the dealer.
Hope this helps.

so do you have to take the disc off to get that disc hub off? and your sure you beat it to get it off? it slides easy on the toothed part of the axle next to the carrier, but in one spot it just stops... so i just hit it off?

There's an O-ring inside the hub that is hitting the flared/tapered part of the axel when you try to remove it...I just yanked it off the axel once I got to the point your at. Check the O-ring for damage before you reasemble...
