Bye Bye to DS in the Dust

This is fun. There is no perfect ride despite what all DS owners think. Every machine has it strength and weaknesses. The Banshee with pipes will beat a stage 1 DS up a steep sand hill. IE sand mountain UT. I have beaten one up the hill with a stage 1 kit. Weight hates gravity. When one wants to race I hunt for the steepest longest hill. On the flats I am not stupid enough to think I have a chance. I also know if I get a Banshee against me at 10000 ft on a tight trail he's toast. and the DS would probably be also. The 400ex is lighter and quicker out of the corner. So I need a tight narrow twisty trail to win that race. Nothings Perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea, YOU could do that. I don't know of any DS owners that would trade their DS for a Banshee.
I prefer to spend my money on a vehicle that has had R&D done on it within the last ten years and improvements other than graphics and color schemes.
Of course, going by your moniker, a Banshee would be a giant step up.
I find it highy amusing that all of the Brand X owners have to come into this forum and preach how good their brand is. :-)

Now wait a minute I would trade my DS for a bashee. Then I would take my jeep and trade it for a ford festiva, then my piped and ported rocket of a 700 rmk (yes it is a polaris)for a 340 sport.
Then I could go into everyone else’s forums and bash all the better machines that are out there to keep from feeling inferior to them. Then I woke up in a cold sweat screaming NO I don't want to be trailer trash please NO.
RIDE ONE BOYS the trash is about to be taken out!!!

86ATC250R,
The relationship between the Bomb, the BMW, and the Rotax IS indeed significant. This particular Rotax has been used to win many endurance(Paris to Dakar Rally) and hillclimbing (Pikes Peak) and other styles of racing. Granted these may not be stock motors, although I wouldnt be surprised if they have run in stock classes, they are still the basis for the current DS 650 motor. You talk about the pitfalls of new technology, yet you are waiting for Cannondale to release their quad (if that happens). Cannondale, to the best of my knowledge, has never built anything gas powered, let alone a radically designed motor that has never powered anything. To me, the motor always comes first, and no way am I gonna buy something that has NO history whatsoever. I'm sure the bugs will get worked out on the DS, it just takes time and input from those in the field...
