I was going to plan buy DS but I look at yamaha in my dirtwheel mag it looks mean and fast quad. I am yamaha fan. No one can't beat yamaha! YAMAHA RULZ! Hondas are okay. Suzuki kick ***! You know you might try composing your letters in a word processor program and using a spell checker before you submit something. You will sound more credible. Though, spouting Yamahhahaha leadership in the ATV market won't help with your credibility. They typically make products that are poorly manufactured, years behind in design and technology.

That new Yahamhahahaha quad is just a prototype at best. There is no proof that this is something that Yamawhatever is producing, or if it is something that some private quad builder put together. The "headlights" are just silver paint; it looks like Banshee plastic grafted on to a bunch of other parts. The engine has air-cooling fins, so it probably isn't the YZ426 motor that everyone wants, probably a 600cc utility motor that has been modified. At best, this thing is probably a year or two away.

If it does come out soon and does really perform well, then I'd say, "About freaking time!" You can be sure you will be able to get parts for it for the rest of your life, since they won't change it till the end of time! :-)

Laters,

Wolverine16 did get one thing right, and I quote, "No one can't beat yamaha!" I bet you he is as sharp as he sounds.

Take a good look at the so-called Yamaha prototype. Remind you of anything? That’s right the DS 650. It takes a lot of research and development to copy another company’s bike. If they even get the bike out next year you think the DS has problems I cant wait to see what problems the Yamaha has. Every one who doesn't own a DS always has something bad to say about it. I wonder how many of you have ever had to chance to ride one. Every quad out there has their good and bad points. The DS has what I was looking for. The price is kinda high but it is only money cant take it with you. It was a hard decision between the banshee and the DS but the deciding factor it the DS is a 4 stroke with enough power to kick some ***. I guess my point is that without the DS every one wound still be happy with there finicky 2 strokes. Instead of looking forward to the release of the new generation of sport quads that will sooner or later put the 2 stroker boys on the side line talking about the good old days when they were the king of the hill.
RIDE HARD, RIDE FAST, DIE HAPPY!!!

Dsaholic, I got a chance to ride one at the Madra poker run. It did ride nice and handled well but, I could not get the rear 22 inch tires to hook up in 1 st + 2 nd. (they just spun underneath me) Then third hooked up and launched like a rocket ship. Did you figure out how to keep the power to ground?

PS, That quad feels like a well hung lazy boy, Comphy. Pardon the spelling, Main PC got taken down by copy-cat virous. On yamahaaaa windows 95 piece of S****,,,,,,,,,,But it runs.

You know I think $7,000 is a little much for something to play on. And besides there will always be Banshees and Warriors around to play around on which by the way the Banshee is still $1,400 cheaper than the DS and with that extra money you can make the Banshee do everything the DS can except better. And if I wanted to drive a tank around the dunes or my yard I would go into the army to drive one for free.
