nop, its pretty easy, the hardest part is cutting out the hole, then hook up 3 wires which already have connectors on them, they made it really easy

Default installing tach?

I had a couple things with the instructions.

First the drawing provided had the brackets going together incorrectly.
Second the wiring wasn't correct for my 2001 yellow ds. Off the ignition I had to switch wires or the tach would always be on. Pretty easy to do and really easy to see when it isn't correct - light on the tach is on when the key is off.

I had scaned and posted the instructions as well as a couple installation pictures on Buttfungus' site. I think the info is now on the ds650net site or something.

Call me if you have any questions as you go.
