Pushin - the pop when you let off the throttle is from the idle mixture screw being a little off. Do this, seriously - ride the bike until fully warm, turn idle down to around 1,000rpm (guess, factory spec is 1400), turn the idel mixture screw in until the motor begins to bog, then turn out counting each turn until the motor bogs again. Set screw Halfway between points of bogging. This is the correct position, and this is how you correctly set the idle mixture on any carb. Popping should then be gone. Oh, reset idle back to around 1400.

Thanks hightower. I will do that. Also thanks punisher, the porcelin stays white. Like I said I have to ride it and put some time on it now because I changed the main. hopefully the base wont be black anymore...... but if it is I guess I will have to buy a 155 and 150 main.

No pure, you didn't waste you money - the dynojet needle offers better throttle response and smoother transition throughout the rev in my opinion. I liked it much better than the stock needle. And running lidless with airbox fitler is just as good as carb mount, the power difference is not enough for me to care about, and washing the bike is much easier. I do suggest you lose the lide if you haven't already, and set the needle position per stage 3 instructions for sure.
I ran 200 dynojet main with stock motor - but that was before I learned to get rid of all black on the plug. No telling how much power I was losing as a result. but 165 sure sounds awefully small to me, that's smaller than the stock main. could be you're lean on the top end, but you soot is coming from somewhere else, like idel mixture or pilot? Just a thought, I don't know anybody running that small a mian.
