I have a traxter max that I've put about a dozen hours on. It doesn't shift easy unless it's warmed up and idling low (will not go into drive easily or at all the rpm's are too high).

Lately it stalls a lot, even when it is warmed up, when I shift it into drive from park. My wife called the dealer and they told her that it needs to be maintenanced every 10 hours or so-- new plugs, oil change, etc. or it will stall like that. Sounds like total bs to me. Anyone else experience something like that? Thanks.

 

I have about 30 hours on my Traxtor Max, the dealer said the gears are square cut and this sometime causes hard shifting but I have no problems like you described. My problem is failure to restart when the engine is hot. I have to let it cool down before it will restart.
My dealer also has a bs manuel that he refers to often.

I had the same problem when I first got my Traxter Max, it kept stalling after 1 or 2 minutes. When I was increasing the idle speed, it was hard to shift. It was just a minor carburetor ajustment. It now works great.

On my last weekend ride, I travelled over 500 miles in 3 days, this thing runs on gas vapors, over 155 miles with a single tank of gas !!!

For my vacation in august, I am going back in northern Quebec for a 800 miles, 5 day ride with 24 buddies, I just can't wait ...

 

How do you grease the u-joints on the 2003 traxtor max? I have tried everything including a needel.
