Default honda 400 cdi (rev-box)

well as some of you know i have had a little headache lately with the engine on the 400, well the engine is back together, and won't start they think the cdi is bad, stange thing is i took it to them running. well anyways they want to bring in a whitebros. cdi i hear these go out after about 6 months, powroll says the xr250 dirtbike plugs right in and will be 800rpm more than a 400ex stock box this sounds like the way to go since they seem to last. anyone have any of the aftermarket cdi's with some info? oh sorry for posting this here but i never get much out of that other site.

My friend was told the same thing about the xr250 cdi from a very well known engine builder that even had their own name on one and said they were identical.

Except for price. I think he said he found the xr250 for about $75. Probably Planet Honda?

I have a XR250 cdi that worked flawlessly over 2 years. It is a plug and play. Swap out a cdi that you know works before you decide that your cdi is bad.

hey sandman we are running the new big gun on the wifes 440 and it seems to work very well and changing from the white brothers to the big gun made about a 1 quad length advantage in a drag race up comp against my friends 440 .i am not sure how much the rev limit is increased but it makes the 440 run better from top to bottom or at least it felt that way to me when i rode it.is powroll the shop that you are having the trouble with on getting the honda started ?

no powroll has worked out great they told me two weeks and it took two days, so that was a great job. they said if the shop it is at can't get it going they would help get it going, who knows what it would cost but at least thier there. and to tell the truth i really didn't want a rev box for that machine yet, kind of wanted him to get accustom to the new power first. well the cdi is going to be here today so we'll see if we have our problem found. think i'll order the xr one though because it is cheaper and made to last.
