Ride review of my rebuilt DS.
MudStud, thanks for the review and the information. I'm interested in your setup. Where did you get your carb from? Did you do the work yourself? Did you have any problems matching the carb to the intake manifold boot or the air filter boot? Have you heard if the Lectron would be too large for a stock engine, with a good intake and exhaust?

No, the carb and Intake were matched together by my mechanic, same person I got the carb setup from.
Yes, I did the work I could on my own. I had my valve springs installed as I did not have the tool. I had my porting done by a mechanic..
It fits PERFECT into the airboot. The opening of carb is the same size as the stock carb. ITs walls are not as thick.
My engine BORE is stock, i raised the compression and added different cams. I dont see why it would NOT work with a stock setup.. THey DO offer a 44 HV.. meaning its starts as a 46 then tapers to a 44. That might be a good choice.. The also make a regular 44mm bore and it is much cheaper..
My Carb/Intake Porting/Twist/Cable came to $675. But so far it has been worth it!!!! The mechanic sets up the carb 95% of the way. I have NOT touched any jetting on it yet. .Not sure if I ever will..

I beleive that the Lectron carb would be the better route to go. It is very similar to my friends Big Air carb design and they do act like fuel injection. And they are realitvley easier to dial in than a TM. I don't think 9700 R.p.m.'s is a bad thing! Those valve springs are actually rated at 10,200 R.P.M. Have fun and enjoy those mods, makes me wish I wasn't selling my quad.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]
