Does it really mater why its hooked to the key??
Maybe its to keep them BOTH together when the DS is off, ya need both to start it..
Maybe is to make some peole ask stupid questions...

actually all you need to start it is philips screwdriver, 10mm wrench, and the handymans secret weapon - duct tape [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]
