you can buy titianium bolts to replace all the bolts on the DS and shave off a couple lbs.

For the price of titanium and carbon fiber you could probably do better by making more HP to carry the weight. For MX I know you want a light machine but with the DS you kinda have to throw that out the window and try to compete with brute force, all the parts that you are looking for will almost all have to be custom except for wheels and such. A titanium axle costs about $1000, you can make lots of HP for that money.

if you were in serious need of losing 20-25lbs right now.. for strictly mx racing or something you could run without the battery, headlight, front fenders and brackets, pipe gaurd, heel gaurds, airbox n stuff,...... you get the point.. you could even remove the starter and cover it with a block off plate.... my batt died and was out of the bike, when my friends went ridin i went.. we had to push start it each time.. was a real bisnatch... ill keep the few extra pounds.......... Course this is all much more complecated than just skippin dinner!!!........just throwing around ideas!!

He has made more HP. When you reduce the weight of the drive line more HP goes to the ground and less is need to make the axle turn. The rear shock works better and last longer because it has 11 fewer pounds too control.
