throttle stiffness---tm45 vs Lectron 44
Hightower, i'll take you up on that offer. Meet me at Maysville at 9:00 this morning!! LOL
lilnotts, I didn't even know a 44HV even existed! I've been on Lectron and Fastbygast websites and found very little info, how much are they? 46 HV too?
dschris, how long have you ran the 44 with soft spring? Ever try to stick?

The 46hv is like 400 if you buy it stock.. The nice thing about the HV series is they COME with the power jet and bleeder circut.. power jet is for WOT and bleeder is like pilot on the TM.. they dont really need the bleeder but it just makes it sound less erratic at low rpms.. the power jet works like the dialajet, it sucks fuel in from the top and drops it into the airflow to help..
If you buy the 46hv already setup its 500. It was worth the extra 100 bucks to have it 95% ready to run.. THe person that sets them up has found this to be the best settings on all the bikes he has dynoed. So that the configuration he provides. But I cant give his secret out so dont ask In fact, I never even looked, it ran to good to bother.

What if the TM only added 1-2 horse and then the lectron made a total of 5-6 hp.. Not 9..

I've had my lectron 44 for a while now and I've had a couple problems with it. Not really the carbs fault though. I was using the hpd thumb throttle and the carb would always stick at lower rpm's. I just switched to a twist and it works flawlessly. The problem was in the throttle and not the carb. Either way the pull isn't that hard. Now that the throttle isn't sticking, its a lot easier to tune. I would stick with the 44 if your not going into the engine. If your doing internal engine work you might want to try the lectron 46 like mudstud or the tm45 like everyone else.

Your missing out on the performance of a Lectron carb!j/k
I did a dyno session with a stage 3 bomb. It had a TM45 carb on it (tuned). After several tuning runs it made a peak of 56HP. I slipped on a 48 Lectron set up rich, air fuel ratio was in the 11.0 range. The bike made 57HP on the first run. After leaning out the carb it made a peak of 61HP. Yes the Lectron was 3mm bigger but HP and TQ was up all the way across the graph. You would think a bigger carb would make less torque down low but it didn't. Which brings me to my next point. The Lectron carb does not need an accelerator pump because it atomizes fuel better than other carbs. When the throttle snaps open heavy unatomized fuel can not travel down the intake tract (BOG). When fuel is light or atomized it travels faster (NO BOG). Thats why a 3mm larger carb can make more torque down low. Atomized fuel means torque, horsepower, throttle response. Guess what kind of carbs Angelle Seeling Savoie runs. I wonder what happens when she snaps the throttle on her pro stock drag bike.
