Well mine does 92mph easy!!.. It also gained on the lowend making ZERO loss of power anywhere....

just a sugestion the new yamaha YFZ 450 goes 1 mph faster than the DS, but i rather have the DS it is a better quad.

 

Ok I have done a couple of mods, but to be honest the 700 should have eaten me alive! I raced the 700 raptor with my old faithful 2003 DS 650 it was fun to look back an start laughing!!! just thought you all would enjoy that !!!!

 

I geared mine up one tooth in the front and run 22" ITP Sand Star rear paddles (soon to be 23" Skat Trak 9 paddle Edges) and I often go 55-60 with room left to red line in 4th gear. With my tire & gear ratio, I should be able to reach high 90s or even low 100s, but that is a little fast for duning. It will have to be really smooth in the dunes for me to try for 100 mph.

My DS has EFI & turbo on 7lbs of boost giving me 85 RWHP (dynoed).
