Default Swingarm or Carb?

I cant decide between the swingarm or the Carb. Which should I get first. I ride in the sand mostly. Which one would you do first?

niether, unless you are going nos. save for the other engine mods, and i'm not that big on the 45 carb, and when you go big you will want the dual carbs. i've run the stage two with the carb and the stock carb, and it now has the stock carb. for the 500-600 for that mod i'd double it and get a 720 bore then work on a race head, then you will need a swingarm and a carb, that is the nice thing about power if you have to much, you can back off you don't have enough and you are wishing for more.

I'm working towards the 720, 733, or 760 kit. Getting the stuff piece by piece. I plan on getting the 44mm lectron carb or the duals. I'm not real big on the 45 either.

What will be the main diff. between the 45 and the dual 39's? I just like the way "DUALS" rolls of the tongue..

But seriously, what is the price diff. for all the parts needed on the two?

duals will cost you double over a single 45. contrary to belief lectrons are not cheaper, the tuning parts cost more, and you gotta buy a new throttle assembly which brings it up to about the same as a mikuni in price.

Persanlly I would not bother with aftermarket carb without motor work too. all or nothing I say. and if you plan to go big bore, get a bigger carb than a 44, like a 46 or 48. and if you get a mikuni make sure you use the accel pump, it'd be a shame to pay for such an awesome feature and then waste it.
fyi going duals will require twist throttle.

I think the stage II (or something similar) is a nice jump if you can afford it in one shot. Without the intake manifold, or the CDI, I dont see much of a point. However, I think there is a lot to be said with the right suspension. All the power in the world wont do you any good unless you plan on only running in a straight line.

I would recomend the carb. Until you get over 55hp a swing arm is not needed. I like the TM45, it's easy to tune and parts are easy to get. The differance between carbs as far as flow/area is a TM 45 area is 62.558mm, 42mm is 54.4542 and dual 39's would be 94.056. Dual 39's would be better on a big bore and stroke. I think I would do a 48mm (71.248mmarea) befor dual anything.

Soorrry... My calculator made and error

42mm carb area is 1385mm
45mm carb area is 1590mm
48mm carb area is 1809mm
dual 39's would be 2389mm

hey don't pay that aweful price for a RW intake manifold, have yours ported my a local shop, and have the head matched to it, as well as the manifold matched to the carb throat. this matching of the ports is the biggest gain, getting rid of those shoulders the air would otherwise hit.

I think I'm going to get the swingarm now and get ready for the motor kit this winter. I would hate to get all that extra power and not be able to get it to the ground, or in this case the sand.
