I'm sorry, I didn't mean to come off as a smart *** there but they REALLY are they same oil in the same bottle with a different sticker... That's all...

 

I will agree I can't find any difference in the API specs at the web site for both oils. Still strange why Valvoline would go to the expenses of two part numbers and two different containers for the same oil?

Also if it is the same, why do you use the motorcycle oil?

Maybe the same oil but just to be safe I will use the Valvoline ATV oil in my ATV. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

Cuz motorcycle engines wind faster and make more power than most ATVs...so if the motorcycle oil can take it...It's great for the ATV [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

Maybe his shop doesn't sell the ATV stuff. Just throwin some options and opinions out there...

Also, are the ATV and the motorcycle oils the same price? That could be another reason if the ATV stuff is more expensive.

 

I buy my oil at an auto parts store... not sure, but I think both the Valvoline oils are the same price.

I use the bomb. kind that is recommended in the owners manual. Works good for me.
