Default speaking of sprockets...

what would be the best setup for a baja w/ a pipe, filter, and jetted. just looking to get the most out of the bike. Don't have a cdi but will be ordering it soon. i'm looking to get faster in drags but not give up much in other ares. also what would be the best set up for dune riding. is it neccessaryto switch both sprockets, how much would i get by switching one sprocket only. And on a scale 1-10, how hard is it to switch out the front sprocket and how hard is it to switch out the rear sprocket?

switching to a 14t front does what over all, and will this be a good set up for the dunes as well? also how difficult would it be to switch.

a 14 makes more tork, it is good for the dunes. all you have to do is losen the chain, take off the sprocket cover, losen and take off the big sprocket nut.

What diameter are your rear tires? Going from 20"to 22" makes a bigger difference than going up one tooth in the front.

Changing 1 tooth in the front is like going around 4 teeth in the back.

15/42 is my favorite all around gearing for 22" tires, 15/40 for 20" on dirt.

15/42 is probably best bet for sand with Geckos.

Difficulty on front - 3 rear - 9 i had to grind sprocket to fit over sprocket hub!

Everybody has opinions, these are mine! There are several gearing calculators around here that are pretty handy!
