Default MBRP? final verdict?

Air,

I agree loud = bad for the industry. However I think most of the DS guys (some more than others) want the MOST POWERFUL exhaust with the lowest noise. (as well as all of the other 'good' features.) However, this at this point cannot be done. LTE (Looney Tuned Exhaust) is said to be developing a dual exhaust for the DS, it would seem this could be an easy way to get lower sound AND more flow / power. The only down side to a dual exhaust would be price, however we all spent $7000 or more on our DS' so paying $700 for the best pipe available (if that is what it turns out to be - or someone elses dual exhaust?) isn't so bad. Heck, on my 2001 DS, I paid $700 for new tires & rims right after I bought it - eeek!!!

If I can't buy the most powerful and quietest pipe, then my second choice would be most powerful when run in a more open / free flowing / loud configuration but also has the ability to be de-tuned and made to be very quiet & legal. Though if the best 'single' pipe is $500, and the best dual is $700, I'd spring for the $700. (We already know how many pipes are $500.)

Theym (LTE) have impressive specs for the pipes that they are already selling. The Raptor, Predator, Z400/FX400 and 400EX pipes all meet noise restrictions and have good solid horepower gains. They are made of stainless steel and include spark arrestors. The kits are well thought out and even include jets. So, on paper anyways, they look good to me so far.
