Default getting rid of the geckos...which paddles should i get?

ok i bought the gecko's last season for the dunes, took it out twice to the dunes and it seemed lik an ok tire. I've been reading some post and it seems like i'm missing out on alot of performance with not getting a better paddle. so for a baja that is piped, jetted, k&n filter, and rwr cdi what paddle should i get. From what i've read i'm pretty sure it'll be a v blade. so what would be the best v blade for my setup. I'm looking for the best tire for all around dune riding, plenty of straight forward grab, and something that throws a nice roost behind me. also my i have no heel gaurds and my fenders are trimmed so the size of the tire doesn't matter. so am i better off with 20" or 22". Thanks in advance

22" is a lot easier to ride around they don't get stuck as much. i'd recommend a hauler or edge 8 paddle, plus i'd order a 15 and a14 front sprocket. i guess there is a new tire from itp you might want to give it a look, don't know much about it.

I had 20" 8 paddle straights, went to a 22" Extreme 10 paddle - What a difference in hook-up. I have stock heal guards and fenders, I was told they may rub but it wasn't the case for me. I think V's will throw more sand in the air if you want to put on a show or roost a friend, but for quick starts go with straights.

what do you mean by that? anyways i think i'm going to get something in a v paddle. it's pretty much between the skat tracks v's and sand skate II. which will last longer? which is the better overall? and which would be better w/ my setup

blastinbaja,
For the type of riding you mentioned the geckos are pretty good especially if they are 22" . even 20" arent bad if you don't mind getting stuck now and then. IMHO Unless you have money that just needs spendin keep the Geckos.
Straight paddles are for going straight - very fast. if you want to be competetive on the hill or drags they are a must but they provide way too much traction for rostin the berms and sliding the back end around.

well the geckos are 20's and they just seemed like they were always digging into the sand. it was a pain to get off the bike and pick up 500lbs+. and some buddies have the sand skate II's and looked sweet on the bikes and they were happy w/ the performance. but if i'm going to shell out the $ i want to be sure to get the best for me.

I have a 03 baja, pipe, jetted, 14 front sproket. I had the Gecko 21x11x10's and they worked OK. I sold them and went to 20x10x10 9 paddle Extreme Haulers. It is like night and day, I don't do much drag racing but love to climb hills and play in the bowls. I do not notice much difference in the handling or steering. Go with the Haulers!
