Default What cams do I need???

I have a RWR exhaust, RWR cdi (want Vortex), 12.5:1 stock bore JE piston, will probably get a tm45 with ported manifold, and slightly ported head.

I do a lot of dirt dragging 300', dune trips, road riding, and a little tight trail riding.

Right now its decent on the bottom, then comes on pretty hard at 5500rpms, and i usually shift at 7500. I haven't had a chance to ride a built DS so have no clue how they feel. Don't want it to be a dog on the bottom but still want it to have better power up to at least 8000.
Don't want to have to go to shim under buckets either.

Will the accelerator pump, 12.5:1, and alky make up for the bottom end loss of the race cams?

How much performance difference is there between Sport/110 and Race/109 cams?

Are a1/a2 cams the way for me to go?

I would love to see some dyno sheets?

Thanks

I have the A1/A2 combo and just LOVE the setup. I cant say how much each piece did but its noticiable.. NO lose on the bottom end at all!!! It just rips up tires!
I have the 11.5 piston, lectron 46mm carb, ported intake, a1/a2 cames, valve springs, clutch springs and its piped. I could tell the cams on the top end.. it reves very well on top and has gobs more then stock power.

Ditto!
But I'd really like to try a set of full race cams, just to see how much they'd hinder my trail performance, if any, in exchange for better drags and dunes! But I don't know anybody who has ran both of these to compare.
Sometime, prolly by next spring, I'll buy a set of race cams using my stock cams as core (I still gottem), and then I'll compare and post! Just gimme half a year to get around to it!

ihave the same set-up as high tower and mudstud the a-1 a-2 works well and i would say those cams a good to about 8000, the 109 seems to goo to 8500, but actually pull pretty strong to 9500, there is a lose at the bottom with the 109's but if you gear right you want notice the difference. at this point i would recommend the 109's, but if you found a good deal on the a-1 pair there nice.

I would like to either borrow or do a temporary trade of my 109 cams for a set of A1/A2 cams to solve a personal mental dilemma I am having. I have a feeling that the A1/A2 cams would perform awesome and I would like to try some first before spending $400.00. If anyone is interested in swaping or letting me borrow, or borrow with an option to purchase let me know.

How about the 110s?

With only .030" and only a few degrees duration difference from 109s wouldn't performance be close and more reliable?

how much lowend are you guys wanting, i seldom use first gear and it rev's enough that my top speed is uncomfortable for me, i'd say in the 80-90 range. the web cams are cheaper so, more to think about.

I agree with Sandman I didn't loose any bottom end on my quad with those 109 Grind cams.
