need serious advice on choice of quad

I just totaled out my highly modified banshee, and i am looking at replacing it with a big bore four stroke, specifically a DS Baja X and was wondering if it will leave me wishing I had the power a speed of my old bike, or would another four stroke be better perhaps a polaris preditor or a raptor? I just don't want to be diapointed or wish I had bought another four stroke in stead of the Baja X.

the Ds has the biggest ***** of them all...the only thing you may dislike is the weight...but then again its in a totally differnt class..and if you want to modify it alot you could always get an 803CC kit

Try the yfz in a test ride at your local dealer, you won't be sorry. If I were you I'd would wait to see what Honda's new flag ship really is.They don't like to be 2nd.......right now they're almost dead last, not good.I think the rnd group has known this for a long time...makes you wonder what they're up to .

what kind of riding you been doing on the banshee? the fourstrokes are getting faster quick, but there not as fast as the fastest banshees yet, but they ride a lot better and are a lot easier to ride around the x should be a nice ride but it will take some work to get to the performance level, that you might want.

I ride or rode a extremely modified 02 banshee, and ride mainly on the sand dunes with paddles, etc. Never owned a 4-stroke other than a grizzly, so just need advice bon what can kkep up with a bored a polished, piped raptor that my best friend rides, the banshee would but will a piped and jetted bajja x even come close to that raptor???

I had a banshee, went to a raptor, went to a ds, and now back to a banshee. If I was getting a 4 stroke it would be the ds, my only complaint was the weight, not that I am some lightweight myself. But lifting that sucker out of the sand was a pain.
I love the two stroke hit, but it will wear you out faster. I could ride my ds for a longer period of time and not get tired. I have said it many times, if I could only have one quad it would be a ds. It is a great machine, and my long time honda friend bought mine because he loved it so much.
The suspension on the ds blows away the competition, and if I buy another quad it will be a ds. I have not heard much about the new lighter ones, anyone know much about them???
Hope that helps some

the excessive weight of the DS will make it FEEL much slower than the modified banshee.
if you are a big guy and want a comfortable quad to cruise the dunes, then the DS is something to look at.
but, if you are average sized, I hate to say it, but there are more and more quads out or coming out that in my opinion have higher performing motors, lighter weight, unlimited aftermarket parts that aren't overpriced.
i won't be buying another non-main stream quad from a non-main stream quad manufacturer after some of my experiences over the past 3 1/2 years dealing with bombardier and the DS650.
sorry DS guys.

If you want a 4 stroke that will hit like your Banshee you won't find it. If you want a 4 stroke that will stay with your friends bored ported and polished Raptor the Baja will if you do the same mods to it. If you just get a pipe you won't be as fast as your friend. If your Banshee was only as fast as your Friends Raptor you can easily make the Baja be as fast and faster than your 02 Banshee.
