Default Front sprocket nut...

I just got my 14 tooth today and I'm trying to take that damn countershaft nut off...

I thought I had the right size socket..but the biggest one I have is a 1 1/8" (about 28mm) and I need a 30mm.... I could go around asking my neighbours if they have the tools...but I wont..

Would a monkey wrench work?? Or anything??

I don't have an airgun or impact wrench...My garage is like the welfare version of most garages.. Too bad I'm not on welfare..

tyre you probably could use that but i wouldn't, i would suggest getting the right size that way alot less chance of stripping it, i borrowed my uncles socket that he uses on his combine,

Actually I'm gonna run down to my local canadian hardware store...buy a 30mm 1/2 drive socket...USE IT...and return it tomorrow and say it didn't fit...cuz I'm a cheap ***...

And I already have a breaker bar

LOL!!!

Now that's a good idea.
Ya know... I've been there done that;

- Bought a radio when out of state on a project... used it and returned it before flying home.
- Bought two way radios, returned them once the job was complete
...etc....

Not anymore, that was years ago. Karma's in full effect the older you get!!

ON THE OTHER HAND;

I too use an impact (1/2" drive) with a 3/4" drive socket purchased from Harbor Freight's tools for cheap, (Cheap tools that you use very little work great!)
Time to make that Christmas list!!!

Well they didn't have 30mm sockets at my local small-town hardware store....but I remembered that a good friend/guy i work with is a certified Toyota mechanic and he has a complete set of tools...So I'm gonna go burrow a socket from him when he gets off work... He has deep sockets, normal sockets, 8 point, 12 point...All in 30mm....

Which one would work best before I go pick it up?

I was thinking deep would work great...

Thanks
