Default Isther a quiet performance pipe out there?

I currently run the ALBA Supertrapp exhaust (full) and it is insanely loud. With the new db law I know I will get nailed running that thing. Is there any muffler that would hook into the supertrapp midpipe that would run quieter? I really don't want to replace the whole thing if I don't have to.

I heard about a $700 dual exhaust system coming out for the DS, if it turns out to be both high performance and quiet it could be quite good.

I just went from the White bros R4 to the Alba recently. Not because of DB's though. Sam (Raptor03) reported over on the yammy forum that he and friends got checked and the Alba with disks was 102db as well as the R4. His Yoshi was less. I think he said 100 or 102 Not sure though. I think the DB ratings are to low for a performance pipe to meet any way. Some say that duals will meet the db's and give performance. That may be the only answer.

edit....oops
I mean 100 or 101

In Oregon, 93db-96db is the magic number. The law says 93 db in the oregon dunes (Florence, Coos Bay & Winchester Bay) but graciously allow (upon descretion of the officer or ranger) a +3db variance. So, if you're nice to the guy testing you, expect that 96 will be OK. I've run around at low RPM with a 97 db pipe and they dont bother me, but as soon as you open it up, you better be headed in the other direction! The sound enforcement law at Sandlake (also in Oregon) is not enforced. I understand that California has the 93 DB limit too. So, to satisfy everyone, the limit needs to be around 93 db.

Marky,

isn't the wood pipe like 106 or somewhere up there??

And side question, how many packages of FMF packing do you use to repack yours??

Thanks

Ron Wood Racing is 105 db at 2000 rpm - I ride it at Sandlake

I don't use any of FMF's packing.

I get my packing from Ron Wood Racing- I don't know how much it costs, but I used about 1/2 of the pack. So, I guess a replacement pack would last about a year.

I still have not heard anything about sound laws here in California. I know that they aren't enforcing anything at Pizmo or Gorman or Red Rocks. And I am pretty darn sure they aren't enforcing it at Glamis either.
