Default Fuel Injection for the DS!

I had a FI throttle body made for my DS and was testing it out this weekend at Sandfest. I was very happy with it, and I'm sure I can get more out of it with some tuning.

It is a hand biult all aluminium product(wieghs about 2lbs), and requires a fuel pump.

It performed aswell as my 45mm. and the best part is it only cost $400. I am looking forward to having NO MORE floats, needles, and pilotjets. Just one EASY to change main jet!!!

These are biult mainly for DRAG RACING, but I trail rode ALOT this weekend, and it never missed a beat(on-alky) and it surprised me how much better it was than my 45mm on fuel mileage.

I have not had a chance to test it with Gas (yet) but I dont see any foreseable problems. Their was no bog, and throttle response was excellent. I was running with the main jet he installed, and I am sure the performance will only get better when I get a chance to play with jetting.

Even if the performance doesnt get much better, it is still great, and just knowing that I wont ever have to touch the carb again is NICE!!

Hightower, thier is no O2 sensor, It is not EFI. It is a very simple set-up and simply takes the place of the 45mm with NO modifications at ALL!! I can put the 45mm back on in seconds! and have done so in some comparisons. I will however may get a exhaust temperture gauge installed for fine tuning the alky.

Edited previous post.

The Man who biult it designed it to run on Jr dragsters, and had been perfecting it for about 3 years know. NHRA will not approve his curburetor because of an unfair advantage. So when I called him, he was very interested in making one for my DS. I would definatley like to get him some business(very cool guy) however, This may not ever be something that can be MASS produced, and shipped to "joe blow" and bolt right on and work perfectly. But I have no doubt that the guys I have talked to and met on this Forum would have NO PROBLEMS setting this FI up for thier engines.

Another + is that if I want to go with a Turbo, or Supercharger, I will not have to worry about a Carb!

As you might have guess'this gentleman is a TALENTED Machinist!! and CAN AND WILL make a ChromeMOLY or Aluminium FRAME for the DS if he can get atleast 3 interested people!! He biulds his own frames for his Jr.dragsters and they are SAWEET!!

Whats really stupid, is that I have a Brand new set of Riding boots in the closet(never been used) It might be a good time to get them out,and break them in

Bigger,

I will take this opportunity to learn from someone else's mistake (for once). I'm finally gonna buy boots. Hope your foot is better soon.

Regarding the Fuel Injection setup, I like the idea of a simple FI system for the DS. Keep us posted please.
