The problem you are having is that your scanner software is saving the pictures in a high resolution mode. Somewhere in the settings of the software, you can change that - however that is the tough part on some programs. Many of the newer programs I've seen are now making the 'resolution' setting easier to find, so if your scanner is newer you may be able to find it. Basically look for something that says 'resolution' or dpi. if you find a resolution setting you should see numvers like 1024 x 768, 1280 x 1024, 1600 x 1200, 800 x 600 and 640 x 480. If you can select it, you'll usually want 640 x 480 for a decent looking picture for online use. If you see a DPI setting, you'll want to set it at 75 or 100 dpi for online picture viewing. If you plan to print these pictures, you'll need much higher DPI but just worry about trying to keep the digits low so that you can upload.

Cool deal. Now I get to see another set of DS650 pictures. Which isn't a bad thing - it's like looking at pictures of beautiful women, you really don't get tired of it since all of them have a little bit of charecter all their own!

Indianbullet,
What you need to do now is to re-open those pictures in your photo editor, then see if you can draw a box around the pictures themselves using the box tool (often it will be an icon in the toolbar which looks like a box of dashed lines.) Once you've got a box drawn around just the picture, search the toolbars for a 'crop' option. When you select the crop option, just try it with all of the defaults if it asks you any questions. What this should do, is cut away all of the extra white background from around your pictures leaving you with just the picture itself. Now save that picture & go from there. You'll want to do that on all of your pictures from here on out. Also, for new pictures you scan, when you do a preview scan, it should allow you to draw a box around the picture at that time so that it will only scan the picture or even just a part of the picture that you want.

IndianBullet - We need to hook up at Sand Mt. There are a bunch of FAST DS's that head there on a semi-regular basis. Should be a few of us there for Oct. 11-13 weekend!
A word of caution though. . . once you see what these DS's can do you will probably want a lot more than an end-cap! Yes, soon you too will be posting on the "How Much has Jeff Cost You" thread!
P.S. Don't take this wrong (and by NO means is this the reason I was mentioning meeting you at Sand Mt. - but. . . ) your Icon reminds me of one of the guys from the Village People!
