RWR INTAKE VS. STOCK
#1
I noticed that the RWR intake says its a great upgrade for the TM42 or TM45 Carbs. Kinda odd that it works with both? How much of a difference is there between the RWR and STOCK intake? Can I just "open" the stock intake up to be the same as RWR? If so where would I want to open it up at? I would like to go with the TM45 carb but am too frugal to spend money I done have to.

I'm not sure on the TM42 but on the TM45s the intake is opened up to the size of the carb. All the casting flaws are smoothed and blended. Just hold them side by side and there is no compareison.
Just guessing , I'd bet the tm42 is ported and blended just not as big.

The Bom is right. The intake is just opened up with a die grinder to match the size of the carb and on the head side, the same thing. Just open the port size to match the head so that there is obstruction in air flow. Smooth out all of the casting flaws and your in business. I ordered the port and polish kit from Eastwood and it allowed me to reach every where I needed. You can save yourself alot of money by doing it your self.
