Default street legal quads?? Anyone done this in US??

Okay....
After reading and learning they make a street legal DS....

I've got to ask if anyone in the US has tried to make theirs "street legal"????

They have almost all the need;
- battery
- headlight
- brake light
- mirror mount on the left perch (just add a mirror!)

They're missing blinkers, but the grandfather clause is "if they don't have any when new, then they don't need any" or something like that. Also.... the tires are not DOT approved.

I also know it's got to do with the VIN number and Registration if it's allowed to be made street legal.

Help...
I'd love to have a street legal DS!! I could ride it 'legally' in other parts of Mexico and my local town (City). Not that I'd go down the freeway.... but can you imagine pulling into the supermarket parking lot and getting off to get a gallon of milk?! LOL!!

I checked this out a few years ago at the State Police post or sec. of state cant remember witch. anyway if I recall right horn, mirror, dot tires, lights and if thers two wheels in the rear they need to have a differrential axel so both wheels dont spin at the same time. and as for turning lights you can use hand singnals.
If you have seen the Oct. dirt wheels in the front pages it shows a street leagl raptor with a single rear tire a reverse trike. he made a custom swing arm to bolt right up to the stock one. this takes care of the differrential problem. this is way cool I want to do this to my DS.
as for dot tires this same guy looks like he maid a spacer that bolted to the stock hub then had studs that bolted to a car/ truck tire mounted to the out side of the hub. cool!!
you can also get turn singnals from denis kirk or a salvage yard. that might be better than hand signs
I live in Michigan and that was my states requirements

I think the emessions will be cake. I'll have to check, but I think it's at idle only. I know it is for my motorcycle.

With a solid axle just lean to the outside a little and let the inside tire slip, Wyoming also allows street legal quads, Wyoduner has plates on his Banshee
