Baja X Skid Plate, Pro Armor or AC Racing
I bought a pro armor and am going to give it a try. I bought the Bombarder swing arm skid plate and took it back. To small and to light. You have to remove the axle and brake disk and chain sprocket to put it on. To much work. It also does not cover very much of the swing arm or chain. The PRM and ProArmor cover 3 times more.

Little trick here for installing the rear skidplate. Instead of removing the axle/sprocket etc. just cut the bolts that hold the skid, which you can't get off without cutting or dissassembling everything. It is easy to put back together with the new bolts going in the other way. Turns a 3 hour job into one hour....

fourlix,
I did that on my 2001 for my DG Baja skid it - cutting the bolts worked well. However I like the setup Pro Armor has even better - you don't ever remove the stock plastic guards, and you only unscrew bolts that are accessible. The bolts that cannot be removed have been slotted on the Pro Armor skid so installarion of the Pro Armor skid is like ten minutes!

BigJon,
You are 1000% right about checking the nuts. Evidentally I didn't tighten mine enough and last trip I heard a 'click click click' noise. I finally figured out it was the bolt that holds the skid on had backed out enough to hit the mounting bolts for the rear sprocket. I tightened up both bolts (both sides were loose in the back and everything was good. Needless to say I was careful to ensure they were much, much tighter this time!
