Default ds 650 no fire?

hi im very new here and i just bought a 2000, ds 650 yesterday for 2150, the reason for so cheap was it had no spark. i did a compresion check to be sure it wasnt all wore out and it was 128 the dealer said anything over 100 was good. now what are things i should check? i looked at the back of the machine and see the i assume the voltage regulator and the red wire was broken off and when i hook it it made no diff you couldnt tell it was broke cause it almost was together but the other ires was holding close to it. i myself think if that red wire was to be regulated and wasnt it must of fried the cdi or the coil?i turned the key and checked for spark and also power to the coil and nothing. i check the ingition switch and im going chase those wires also. any one had this kinda of prob ? and where can i get these parts cheap for a 2000 ds 650 i know nothing about them but ive heard all good thank you

it's a long shot but there is some wires that come out of the stator side if you look at the heat sheald you will see a couple of disconnects in there, make sure there both connected, if there not no fire there are also a few fuses to check under the seat.
