I just put some 115 octane in new 720 motor and fired it up, and the temp went from 130-200 in 10 seconds...WOW

Could i have an air pocket in coolant system, I just re-placed a clutch and the bike ran fine before...could it be the water pump shaft or what, it looked a bit chewed up a tad but never had a heat issue before and the pump shaft is not slipping on the crank gear WTF...any thoughts people???

 

I would check out if you do have an air pocket in it and also see if the thermostat is opening. If you think the termostat might be the problem, try removing it and putting everything back together and firing it up. If it runs cool then I would replace the thermostat

Oh I have to at least pipe and jet it. Mods dont scare me too much.....used to be a mechanic and 4wheelers and bikes seem to be a breeze compared to some of the sh$* cars and trucks I used to have to bandage up to get someone down the road.
