I have turbo paddles on both of mine. The bars are taller than my haulers and they also have a reinforced center of the paddle so not to rip off, but also saves them from losing there edge if you have to drive on a hard surface;within reason of course. They seem to land good, I am terrible at landing but they do good.

Assuming you ride a DS650, an 18" paddle tire (if there is such a thing) isn't going to leave you much room under the axle carrier.
You'll likely get stuck pretty often, as the paddles tend to dig in when you start off and you'll end up "high-centered" on the carrier housing.
