Hi, I have a 2001 DS650. I was hoping that anyone could tell me easy mods i could do to my DS650. I need them done before saterday 11/31. Can u tell me a way to make my quad faster for drag racing. I need to go a little bit faster to beat someone and it is going to be on tape, so i want to win. And could anyone tell me if running my air box lid off with a uni filter help with speed or power.
thanx

well try a 15 tooth front sprocket that is a nice gain for cheap, and there cheap at rocky mt. i'd leave the lid on. pm mr. hp he has some good ideas on that set-up . i know for a fact that lid on is better i have two ds's that i have been able to run side by side and the lid was faster.

also take 1or 2, 3"-4" hose clamp and put it around the intake boot between the carb and air box make it snug. with out this you will notice when you rev it up the boot will flutter cause turbulance . the clamps keep it from fluttering. I actuly took the boot off and used 14ga wire and wraped the whole boot with 1" spaces between coils. put it back on and put little twists in the wire to firm it up. needless to say its as solid as a rock no fluttering. on your other post I said that removing your air box lid would help. This is the case on most bikes, but after reading Sandman's post I think I would take his advice and leave it on. I don't have experience with the DS but I can say that it did help my ex.
