Default what kind of oil

Contrary to what everyone on this forum told me, I run the factory synthetic oil. There are a few reasons for this. Some people have had problems with foaming in hot climates, and synthetic reduces the chances of this. Everyone knows that synthetic causes less friction, thus more power, and the final reason is the clutch. A lot of people burn up their clutch after just 100 hours. Even stock machines are burning up their clutches with just a few hours. I have just replaced my clutch after approx. 300 hours, and that is with synthetic oil. What makes this impressive is that I have a pipe, filter, jet kit, weigh 300 lbs., and am very aggressive on the track and drag strip. This is just my opinion, but the people who also have good luck with the apove also run a high dollar honda, red line, or comparable oil. This probably doesn't make your decision easier, but there is probably a reason rotax wanted this oil.

several oils have the JASO MA rating. Klotz, Amsoil, others. The rating was introduced for wet clutch motorcycles. Modern synthetic oils for automobiles are not formulated ideally for wet clutch high reving racing motors with integral transmissions and they are too focused on energy conservation and emissions, many of them have friction modifiers. The JASO MA rating means the oil is "high friction" for use in wet clutches.

Sandman,

You know that solves the whole problem - A synthetic oil that does not slip your clutch with specs to prove it. I'm sure Amsoil aint cheap, but neither is Redline.

as you know the redline is what i use but i have found it at knecht's it's like 7.50 a quart and seems oils like torco are almost 5 bucks a quart so might as well go for the good stuff. there isn't a lot of good for the clutch with these synthetic oils but like i've said in the past the metal parts are more inportant to me and i can change the clutch in a hour. which reminds me i should get a spare set of plates in the tool box. hey did you put a cam in the honda? need to adjust the little guys ride, powroll told me it would be tame with the bore and stroke and it has been, time to get the power up for alex he is starting to ride great even pass's me and slim on certain rides
