all of these adjustment just give you little gains, the gear change is noticeable. the clutch springs are something that is hard to notice unless you have several ds to run with that show a difference on the race out come. weight is a big factor, when my brother that was 35 pounds less than me would walk away i was pi$$ed( thought he was a better rider at first). take any thing off the quad you don't need like the tool kit, run the quad to reserve then add a 1/2 to 1 gallon of fuel if i figure right that could be about 2 gallons of fuel and that is about 15 pounds, take off the front fenders there is a good 4 pounds. oh and after reread you project if your on a tight budget make sure your airfilter is very clean.
so seems all of these things are free except the sprocket and springs since it's your cousin maybe you should try these free things and see if you win, if you do you know he will try and come back with a little something next time, so then you can switch the sprocket then. it is kind of like playing chess.

Save your "jet kit" money for something else, maybe a Big Gun rev box or air filter like Marky said. The factory needle makes great power and throttle responce when tuned right.

the reason i was asking bout the jets is because my cousin has extra jets andi beleave he as the biggest i think i might be wrong. but i didn't know if it would be ok to run a differnt jet wth the stock needle at the richest position.
