Axle Problems
#2
I've heard of extremely few problems with any of the Bombardier models. There have certainly been some, however they are few and far between. If your machine is still under warranty, I think you might try contacting Bombardier Customer Service & explaining to them that you are having this problem and that you'ed like some sort of lasting resolution. Could it be something the dealer is or is not doing? What kind of breakage are you having?
You may also push for them to allow you to buy an extended warranty - this way you are happy know that it will be fixed if need be, and if it is fixed right, they'll make a little extra cash. If you can't find the Customer Service phone number, do a search here in the forums for customer service and it should come up.

I've contacted Bombardier customer service and they sent a senior rep to the dealership to check it out. They fixed the axles and I've put maybe 15 miles on it and they are broke again (5th time). I haven't contacted the dealer. I think there maybe something funny with the dealer or the representative the dealer works with. Before buying the four wheeler I told the dealer that I wanted 27 inch tires and aluminum rims. I asked the dealer if this would void any of the warranty. He told me he didn't think it would but he would check with the rep. The rep told him the tires would not hurt the warranty. After the fourth time the axle broke, I called Bombardier and asked them and they said yes the larger tires would void it. The dealership has fixed this every time.under warranty. This last time the axle broke, I called Bombardier to see if any warranty claims had been filed for this and they have no record of it. Sounds a little funny if you ask me. But thank God I have the 3 year extended warranty.
Would tires cause this to happen? I feel like this may be the reason for this problem.

The bigger tires would add stress for sure, though it would seem to me if the engine can still turn the tires it shouldn't be that bad. Are there any aftermarket options available to you as a replacement? Perhaps you could find some 25" tires to try for a bit & see if the axles stop breaking. (Obviously that means spending cash though.) How are the axles breaking, perhaps the larger tires are putting stress on the axles in an unusual way, like from a different direction or something.
I think there is a company called highlifter that does a lot of work with 4x4 & utility machines, as well as a company called CDS. Maybe they could shed some more light as they are very into mudding & Utility machines.

Hello Fellas,
First off, I'm not on here to bitch, I'm just trying to find out if anyone else has had a similar problem, or has heard of such an issue. I bought 2 '07 400 xt's, one for me and one for the wife. We don't ride hard, but we DO use them. My wife was just cruising along, mind you, no rocks, no holes, no stumps or obstacles, just a fire road, and the right front "A" arm where it connects to the ball joint (underneath where the strut connects to the "A" arm broke, and off the road she went. She got hurt, but it could of been a lot worse. I looked at the meager connection and it's CAST metal of some sort and definately seems inadequate to me. I read about and see all these other riders jumping and rock crawling and that sort of thing which we don't do, and it would seem that if this was problematic, someone else would have had this issue. ANY HELP? Can a brother get some love? I just don't want to go to the dealer/BRP with just my d*#k in my hands. Any co-signers?
Thanx > J.D.
