What PSI compression should I get with the RWR A1/A2 cams and 11.5:1 piston. Can you do a leak down test with a standard compression tester, the place I bought the tester did not have a leak down tester.

I was wonderring the same thing about the leak down tester. Mine has a valve in the end of it (like what is in a tire valve stem), if you take this out I think it would allow me to do a leak down test....maybe.

but TTT

maybe around 229psi, assuming static compression ratio = 11.5, leakdown = 2%, lobe center around 105 degrees, advance around 1 degree, barometer reading 29.9"Hg

I just did a test without disabling the decompressor and got a reading of 195, cold. Is this ok, has anyone done the test without disabling the decompressor, what did you get? Should I do another test with the decompressor disabled or do you think this is within spec.

i just use a small thin piece of cardboard such as a spark plug box lid, roll it up and insert into the cam to keep decompressor disabled.

Thanks Scooby, I will try that and see what I get, I also am trying to find a leak down tester to do that too.
