Everyone should know how I feel about the CDI. GET ONE NOW!

The advanced power band in all of these aftermarket units are fairly close to the same. The Big Gun has a rev limit of 8500 or so. And its pretty low in price. The Vortex just has a lot more options for high end, low end or anything in between as well as stock power curves with several types of rev limits in all of the curves.

The manufacturer that was chosen by Big Gun to make the units with thier power curve is in hot water right now for selling direct. Unfortunatly, the power curves are priprietary information, and I predict you'll see a law suit out of the whole mess. I guess the Chinese involved in this mess don't understand American Corporate law - or perhaps the sales guy hadn't seen the contract. Whatever the case may be, they seem to be pushing their units on EBAY as "Just Like" Big Gun units, much like the Chinese do with a $25 Rolex watch. I dont really know how much longer they will last. The word is that there will be a change in who will manufacture the Big Gun units in the future and it probably wont be Procom. Perhaps a steam roller over several thousand "Just Like" Big Gun CDI's will convince them that this type of thing is probably not a good idea to do next time.

Just a word of advice, if anyone says, "It's just like a Big Gun CDI", make sure they don't have other items in that long trenchcoat that are "just like a Rolex" too. - You get what you pay for.

If these cdi units on ebay are Big Gun's..... How can they work on the older version DS's.... I thought the Big Gun cdi's only worked for the baja and new version DS's?

Because Big Gun's power curve was put into a blank CDI which Procomm manufactures. Ok?

Are you trying to be sarcastic with the "ok" or something? Now that I know that these Big Gun replica cdi's will work on the older version DS's I want one! But do they have a rev limiter like the big gun or is it non limited like the RWR cdi? It don't matter but I don't wanna spend money on a cdi that don't advance timing and only increase rev limit or some $hit.

Yes, they all will raise or unlimit your rev and yes, they all advance your timing.
