hmmmm I see now. But I DO think procom is making cdi's for the older version DS's because on ebay it says to tell them the year of your DS so they ship the right one... They would only ask for that reason so I assume they have them for the older version as well. They're selling CHEAP so I better get one before they go down....

Push, You are right. Procom IS selling CDI's for the standard DS - but, with BIG GUN's Power curve (or at least thats the bone of contention that Big Gun has with Procom). Also, there was informal talks that Big Gun was going to sell standard (as you say "older" style) cdi's as well. It just looks like Procom used the same power curve from the Baja Version, and put it into the "standard" version and started selling them before Big Gun took thier first stock of them.

Yup, that's what I figured. Do you see how cheap they're going on ebay!? I gotta get one before there is no more for that price!

Pushing, I think your failing to realize that in essance these are hijacked CDI units that are replicas. You buy one and you hurt any valid vendor in the US that sells ligit hardware for your DS. It comes down to ethics dude. You are litterly out buying resellers with an essentially stolen product. I could not in good concience buy one. Plus, if they are replicas why risk your ATV on it? It could do damage if it is cheap or failing.

ya, im not goign to get one for a number of reasons..... especially cuz of the fact that, if these ARE a little different, and say it smokes the wiring on the ds, or say the power curve isnt correct and is whacky, or even if it breaks..... i doubt you would have much luck getting a replacement..... plus the fact that they aer basically stolen dosnt exactly leave me comfortable with that product...

yes, the BG does have a rev limit.

Ok tell me this. Barlet,, you take the time to desing Bartletts Thingamajig. You then work with Mudstud manufacturing to manufacture them to your standards. Then Mudstud turns around and sells them for 1/4 the price you wanted to sell them for? Now Mudstud is selling them even though he did not to the RND just used the blueprints. Now you have TONS of your thingamajigs laying around because I went behind you and outsold you using your product?

That would make you mad I belive but heck its bis right?

I just want to make sure that everyone knows that i am not preaching on this forum. People that email me know how I feel about them, But I am trying to provide the facts because people are asking. Do I think Procom has covered their a$$ - Absolutely not! Is there anything illegal about somebody buying a CDI from Procom? No! For some the issue runs deeper than that, and for others it does not. Either way, you guys got the info you need. Happy new year!

SO, now if I happen to purchase this Procom cdi am I gonna end up with a piece of $hit that might not work and fry my wiring like roost said!? I'm about ready to just say screw it and wait till I have the $$ for a RWR cdi or Regular Big Gun. I don't know what I should do.

The safe thing would be to wait.
Save up and get the one you want and know its going to work.
