You guys are making me feel like I have done something illegal. I have one of the E-bay Procomm CDIs and I really like the difference it made on my DS. BTW, its "plug n play" for an 01. No rewiring required.

like truckracer was saying,"i learned the hard way about not having a rev limiter". i have the rwr right now and am looking for a different one with a rev limiter of some kind in it. If money was no object, which one would you all choose and why.

If money was no object I'd choose the Vortex. It is customizable, the MSD might even be equal or better, however from what I can tell the MSD might be too customizable for me. The Vortex sounds like a good balance of features & ease of use for me. If both money AND time were no object, then I might choose the MSD no one( that I know of) has tried it yet, but if money is no object then what is wrong with being the Guinea Pig for the experiment?

Hey boys, I bought the Procomm a few weeks back and love it. I haven't hit a rev limiter yet and my factory tach still hasn't arrived so I can't tell you if it has one or what it is. I do know it has widened the power band and it feels both faster and smoother. So far it has been a steal. Hope it lasts!

I bought one before I knew the history. And cammer how could you have that thing on there, and not hit the rev limit yet I hit mine the first time out LOL. I guess I should say Big Gun did there research and got it right. It has a rev limit and the new settings help pick the front end up alot easyer.

i will let you guys know whati think of the big gun once it comes (probably within the next 7-10 days)

Paint,
I too bought it before the history was disclosed. I think my posting was what started all the discussion. Anyway, so far it has been great, I agree on the wheelie part, no need to ride the clutch now just lean, gas & up she comes. I admit I have been cautious with the shifting as I didn't completely trust my motor to a no name part. Thanx for confirming that the rev limiter works. Now if I could only get the tach. delivered... is Bombardier always slow on parts? 6 weeks now I have been waiting for the factory tach.

ive always seem to hear that ds' are very hard to wheelie.....

but i have PROBLEMS with wheelies.... every time i drag (even in sand with realtor tires) ill put all of my 230 pounds up front and the front will still point to the stars......

and on grass i can do rolling wheelis in first and second.....

i had considered LOWERING my gearing....but maybei should go UP a tooth....
